In order to achieve and sustain HIV epidemic control, ASUTA is collaborating with FHI 360 on a global project called Epidemic Control (EpiC), which is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). Its five-year performance period, from April 15, 2019 to April 14, 2025, is headed by FHI 360 as premier.
Goal: This position will be critical to the development, management, and execution of biomedical services for HIV care, treatment, and prevention initiatives. The BTO will guarantee that vulnerable people receive biomedical interventions in an efficient manner and that healthcare providers receive guidance. The position also entails creating service plans, guaranteeing the availability of biomedical supplies, and operationalizing national rules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the biomedical services’ execution while working with personnel, implementing partners, and important stakeholders.
- To increase ability to provide biomedical services and address any attitudes or views around KVPs, government/certified health providers and CHMTs should get training and mentoring.
- To enhance HIV biological prevention for KVPs in the designated council, collaborate closely with senior-level counterparts in the CHMT, district/council care and treatment partners, and other partners.
- Assure that the National Guidelines for Comprehensive HIV Interventions for Family Planning, TB, STI, HIV testing, HIVST, PrEP, and KVPs are operationalized.
- Oversee and synchronize the prompt execution of all-inclusive biomedical services, including HIVST, PrEP, Mobile HTS, Index Testing, Social Network Strategy (SNS), and Recency Testing.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist HIV-positive clients with case management services, including care coordination and treatment planning.
- Work along with peer navigators to oversee GBV, STI, and TB cases.
- To encourage client adherence to treatment plans, make sure that cases are well documented, monitored, and followed up on.
- Carry out any additional duties as directed by management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field, such as public health, clinical medicine, nursing, biomedical sciences, or health management.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English.
- three to five years of experience working with vulnerable and high-risk populations in HIV prevention initiatives.
- Prior experience working in HIV prevention supported by USAID and PEPFAR
- Programs are in great demand.
