Located in Mbezi Beach, Makonde Dar es Salaam, Rightway School is a day nursery and primary school with about 900 pupils taught in English. It is boarding. The school wants to support 21st-century, comprehensive learning. In our finance department, Rightway School is looking to hire a committed and experienced finance manager. The School Director will receive reports from the incumbent.
The ideal applicant will be in charge of overseeing the school’s financial stability, making sure that all financial rules are followed, and giving the leadership team of the institution strategic financial direction. In addition to having a thorough understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial management, this position also calls for excellent communication skills with a variety of stakeholders, including parents, teachers, administrators, and outside auditors.
Responsibilities
- Create and oversee the annual budget for the school.
- Track and document the financial success of the school.
- Verify adherence to financial policies and regulations.
- Create and deliver financial reports to the leadership group of the school.
- In charge of payroll processing, make sure salaries are paid on schedule.
- Handle the receivables and payables.
- Make analyses and forecasts regarding finances.
- During financial audits, cooperate with outside auditors.
- Create and put into action financial policies and processes.
- Keep an eye on cash flow and control your money.
- Give school officials financial assistance that is strategic.
- Verify the integrity and correctness of financial records.
- Oversee the financial components of school activities and projects.
- Observe the investment portfolio of the school.
- Work together with other divisions to assist with financial planning.
- Examine and accept financial transactions.
Qualifications:
Finance Manager will need to fulfill the following qualifications;
- A master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a similar discipline.
- Professional certification is a MUST (e.g., CPA, CMA).
- Three years or more of experience managing finances.
- An educational setting experience is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial rules.
- Outstanding ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- The capacity to function both alone and together.
- Adept at organizing and paying attention to detail.
- Able to oversee several projects and adhere to deadlines.
- Familiarity with financial forecasting and budgeting.
- Knowledge of tax laws and payroll processes.
- The capacity to offer strategic financial advice.
- Strong moral principles and honesty.
- Familiarity with compliance and financial audits.
- The capacity to create and carry out financial policies.
