Akiba Commercial Bank Plc commenced banking operations in August 1997 as an initiative of over 300 Tanzanian entrepreneurs who were inspired to move into microfinance by the moral and economical concern for the plight of millions of Tanzanians.

The Insurance Manager will be in charge of planning, managing, leading, and directing the insurance agency business across all of the bank’s touch points in order to meet business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Marketing of all insurance products, including life and non-life, and ensuring all claims are well managed as per the agreed-upon TAT.
Provide the primary link between the bank, insurance firms, and insurance agencies and their customers.
Develop and implement an overall business plan for all branches in accordance with the annual plans.
Organize, in collaboration with other business units, activities to promote the Bank’s insurance business Ensure compliance with local insurance.
Attend meetings, seminars, and programs to study and build new insurance business products.
Manage your relationships with business partners and other stakeholders.
To guarantee that our retail portfolio has enough insurance protection based on the needs of the business and the bank.

Qualifications:

University degree in insurance and risk management.
Certificate in insurance/experience in sales and marketing of insurance products or equivalent, or actuarial studies.
A minimum of five years of banking experience. 3 years of experience in insurance with a strong track record.
A thorough understanding of the Tanzanian insurance business.
Strong analytical and numerical abilities for calculating statistics, figures, and targets.
Ability to interact professionally, confidently, and successfully with employees at all levels, both internally and externally.

Good interpersonal and bargaining skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
