For admission to its various degree programs for the 2024–2025 academic year, Mzumbe University is accepting applications from competent Tanzanians and non-Tanzanians. The first round of applications will begin on July 15, 2024, and close on August 10, 2024.

Three campuses – Mzumbe University Main Campus in Morogoro (MU), Mzumbe University-Dar es Salaam Campus College (MUDCCo), and Mzumbe University-Mbeya Campus College (MUMCCo) – offer bachelor’s degree programs. Applicants must indicate in their application the campus they desire to be considered for admission to any of the programs.

Because they identify the campus where the program is offered, program codes are important considerations when selecting a study program. Candidates may choose from a maximum of three options; selection is made based on the candidate’s academic standing and preferences for the program.

Mzumbe Admission and Applications

Programs beginning in “MU” can be found at Mzumbe University’s Main Campus; programs beginning in “MDA” can be found at Mzumbe University’s Dar es Salaam Campus College (MUDCCo); programs beginning in “MMB” can be found at Mzumbe University’s Mbeya Campus College (MUMCCo). Mzumbe University strongly urges all applicants to carefully review the entry requirements stated below before selecting which programs to apply for.

Mode of Application:

  • Applicants who wish to apply online should go to https://admission.mzumbe.ac.tz/ and carefully follow the instructions in the application. Make sure they have a working cell phone number and an active email address before navigating to the online application process.
  • In order to make informed decisions, you must carefully review the program entry requirements before submitting your application.
  • The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) equivalent translations are required for applicants with foreign secondary school certificates.
  • The National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) equivalent translations are required for applicants with foreign qualifications (certificate or diploma).
  • The window for first-round applications is open from July 15, 2024, until August 10, 2024. The system user accounts, email addresses, and SMS numbers used during the application process will be used by the successful candidates to notify them. It is important for applicants to ensure they maintain their login credentials for their admission account.

Mzumbe Entry Requirements

1. Direct Entry Qualifications

  • An applicant must have at least three (3) O-Level credit passes in relevant subjects according to specific programme.
  • The applicant must have at least two principal passes at A-Level; provided that the total number of points is at least 4.5 with EXCEPTION of Bachelor of Science with Education programme (MU025) offered in the Faculty of Science and Technology which requires at least 4.0 A-level points.
  • For purpose of calculating minimum cut-off points in (ii) above, the scale is as follows: A=5; B=4; C=3; D=2; E=1; S=0.5. For candidates who sat for their Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination in 2014 and 2015, the required scale is as follows; A=5; B+=4; B=3; C=2; D=1; E=0.5. It is important also to note that for the candidates who sat for their Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination in 2014 and 2015; the principal pass starts at C grade.

2. Equivalent Entry Qualifications

  • Appropriate Diploma from an accredited training institution of not less than 3.0 GPA. In addition, an applicant must have at least four passes at his/her Certificate of Secondary Education (O-level) Examination.
