Procurement Assistant || Medical Teams International

Parallel to technical competence, recruitment & selection, hiring decisions will give due emphasis to assessing candidates’ eligibility thorough background checks, police clearance, and professional reference check processes.
Accountable for supporting national procurement of products, transportation, subcontracted labor, and services.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in all national procurement activities, including transportation, subcontracting, and services.
- Negotiate rates and suggest new suppliers for validation while supporting all procurement processes in compliance with MTI and donor policies and procedures. Be transparent, accountable, efficient, timely, and economical in all aspects of the process.
- Coordinate with the logistics officer to plan the transportation of products and services that are purchased at the national level.
- In accordance with MTI and donor policies, submit and gather quotes and tenders.
- Help monitor vendor contracts and collaborate closely with user departments to guarantee successful and efficient execution; facilitate prompt vendor payment by delivering all necessary paperwork on time.
- Fill out and properly file all procurement paperwork.
Required Qualification:
- It is necessary to have a diploma in business administration, supply chain management, procurement and logistics, or a similar discipline.
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, procurement and logistics, or a similar discipline is advantageous.
- A professional qualification (CPSP, CIPS, CILT, CPP, CPPM, CDPP, CPDW) with the Procurement and Supplies Professional and Technicians Board (PSPTB) is preferred.
Experience:
- Two years of experience in logistics and procurement,
- An additional benefit is familiarity with procurement-specific processes and donor assets (UN, USAID, etc.).
