Six professional fields are currently offered by the university as program specializations: Allied Health Sciences, Law, Business and Management Sciences, Information and Communication Technology, Arts and Social Sciences, and Education courses. Certificates, diplomas, bachelor’s degrees, postgraduate diplomas, master’s degrees, and doctorates are all obtained through these programs. Additionally, it offers seminars, short courses, research across a range of fields, and consulting.
The times for these programs are Monday through Saturday during the semester. If both the lecturer and the course participants agree, lectures may, in certain cases, be held on public holidays. The Academic Almanac, which is typically created each academic year, lists the major events held at the university.
Unless the subject requires otherwise, English is the medium of instruction at the University.
The academic programmes focus on seven areas as follows:
1. CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES:
- Certificate in Computer Science: a one (1) year programme.
- Certificate in Law: a one (1) year programme.
- Certificate in Business Administration: a one (1) year programme.
- Certificate in Library Information Studies (Library, Records and Archive Management): a one (1) year programme.
- Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences: a two (2) year programme (NTA 4 & NTA5).
- Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences: a two (2) year programme (NTA 4 & NTA 5).
2. DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES:
- Diploma in Computer Science: a two (2) year programme.
- Diploma in Law: a two (2) year programme.
- Diploma in Business Administration: a two (2) year programme
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology Sciences: a one (1) year programme (NTA 6).
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences: a one (1) year programme (NTA 6).
- Diploma in Library Information Services: a two (2) year programme.
3. DEGREE PROGRAMMES:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Information Systems): a three (3) year programme.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Software Engineering): a three (3) year programme.
- Bachelor of Accounting and Finance with Information Technology (BAFIT): a three (3) year programme.
- Bachelor of Environmental Health Sciences with Information Technology (BEHSIT): a three (3) year programme.
- Bachelor of Science with Education (IT and MATHEMATICS) (BSc Ed): a three (3) year programme.
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB): a four (4) year programme.
- Bachelor of Arts with Education (BAED) with teaching subjects majoring in English or Kiswahili and minor in Language/Geography/History/ Economics: a three (3) year programme.
- Bachelor of Arts with Education (BAED) with teaching subjects Geography and IT, Economics and IT: a three (3) year programme.
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA): a three (3) year programme.
4. POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES:
- Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL).
- Specialized Postgraduate Diploma in Law (SPGDL).
- Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
5. ASTER‟S DEGREE PROGRAMMES:
- Master of Laws (LL.M) in Human Rights Law.
- Master of Laws (LL.M) in Trade and Finance Law.
- Master of Laws (LL.M) in Finance and Banking Law.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting and Finance.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources Management.
- Masters of Finance and International Investment Management (MFIIM).
