Job Summary:

- Through the Regional Counsel, provide general and specialized legal support services to DC Tanzania in coordination with the Legal Department of DCP Headquarters.
- Ascertain that DC Tanzania complies with all applicable laws and regulations and that any legal risks to the company are managed and minimized.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Examine the cases that have been brought against the company, evaluate their merits and weaknesses, determine whether a defense is available, identify a qualified legal firm to represent the company, agree on terms of engagement, and get permission to direct the legal firm appropriately.
- ensuring that licenses and permits are renewed and that statutory reports and returns are filed on schedule in coordination with the appropriate Departments and Units.
- Examining and creating service level agreements and contracts.
- offering company legal advice services upon request.
- Evaluate and pinpoint any unresolved governance concerns for the companies. Consult with experts to make sure the right actions are done to abide by the law.

Requirements:
- A Bachelor of Laws (LL. B.) degree, admission to the Tanzanian Bar, and Tanganyika Law Society membership.
- Professional credentials or a postgraduate degree that is pertinent.
- A maximum of ten (10) years of appropriate post-call job experience is required, with a minimum of five (5) years.
- A basic awareness of the laws, rules, opportunities, and difficulties that are specific to the mining and/or cement manufacturing industries.
- Good familiarity with Tanzania’s regulatory framework for compliance.
- Solid and current understanding of the laws, concerns, and developments surrounding corporate governance.
- Knowledge, comprehension, and aptitude for deciphering complicated legal matters and providing wise legal counsel.
- Tact and strong interpersonal communication abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both in writing and speaking.
- Strong project management and organizing abilities.
- Outstanding facilitation and presentation abilities.
